Guacahumus: Granot Farmer Company, Israel’s leading marketer of avocados, berries, fresh fruits, and vegetables, gives us a new recipe for a special and delicious dish: Chickpeas with avocado.
“Guacahumus” – a surprising combination of flavors of chickpeas with avocados. Easy to prepare and is great as an appetizer or main course.
Ingredients (for about 4 people):
- 1 ripe avocado
- 350 grams of cooked chickpeas
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper
- 1/4 cup coriander
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
Preparating the Guacahumus:
Soak the chickpeas overnight in a bowl of water at room temperature.
Then, cook in boiling water until completely softened.
Put the chickpeas in a blender and add the two teaspoons of lemon juice, the ripe avocado, the quarter teaspoon of hot pepper, the quarter cup of coriander, and the two teaspoons of olive oil.
Pour into a bowl with a wiping motion and garnish with olive oil and some chickpeas.
This dish is usually eaten with pita bread or crackers.
