And the best part is that cooking it in the oven still gives the steak a great texture and taste.
Ingredients for chicken steak in the oven
- 1 pound chicken steak, cut into serving pieces.
- 1/3 cup flour.
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt.
- 3/4 cup seasoned breadcrumbs.
- 2 egg whites.
- Fat-free chicken sauce.
- Olive oil
Preparation instructions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Celsius. Place the round steaks between two sheets of wax paper and flatten the chicken to a thickness of 1/8 inch with a hammer or rolling pin.
In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, seasoned salt, and breadcrumbs and mix well.
In another shallow bowl, whisk the egg whites. Dip each piece of steak into the breadcrumbs, coat well and squeeze the crumbs so that they stick together. Then dip the meat in the egg mixture, cover completely and let all the excess liquid drip.
Then, again dip the meat into crumbs and coat well. Place the coated steaks on the baking paper. Sprinkle olive oil on top of the chicken steak.
. Place the chicken steak on the wax sheets and place it in the oven and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.
Turn the steaks over and drizzle olive oil onto them again. Bake for another 10-12 minutes or until the coating is crispy and lightly browned.
While the chicken steak is in the oven, place the chicken sauce in the microwave to heat it up.
To serve, place one steak on each plate with about 1/4 cup of sauce on it. Serve hot.
